Blockasset’s official athlete Fan Tokens will include UFC superstars Jorge Masvidal, Khamzat Chimaev and Gilbert Burns as well as Middleweight Champion Alex Pereira.
The leading global blockchain provider for Web3 sports and entertainment, Chiliz, announced that sports NFT company Blockasset has committed to building on the new Chiliz Blockchain. As part of the agreement, Chiliz made an equity investment into Blockasset. They join a list of partners that include Wayne Rooney and Michael Bisping.
Blockasset is an athlete verified Token platform enabling fans, brands and athletes to connect through cutting-edge Web3 social technology. They built their first development stage on Solana, where $BLOCK was one of the best performing tokens. Now, Blockasset will move the next development phase of their tokens to the Chiliz Chain, which is the fastest-growing layer-1 chain for sports and entertainment.
Chiliz Labs Accelerator and Incubator Program
The agreement will see Blockasset become the next cutting-edge project to benefit from Chiliz Labs, the $50M accelerator and incubator program launched on March 1 by Chiliz and Jump Crypto. Chiliz is the creator of Fan Tokens and the Socios.com fan engagement and rewards app. The platform has an ecosystem and audience comprising more than 170 partners across the globe and over 1.8 million wallets.
Chiliz is building the sports and entertainment industry’s largest community of fans, brands and innovative developers to deliver the benefits of a dedicated sports Web3 network. As part of this vision, Chiliz Labs is committed to building an environment for entrepreneurs and developers focused on creating long-lasting, utility-oriented projects.
Blockasset joins FanFest and LiveLike on the Chiliz ecosystem
Blockasset joins live streaming provider FanFest and fan engagement start-up LiveLike, who recently joined the Chiliz ecosystem to build web3 products and services such as offering “watch to earn” blockchain-backed collectibles to broadcasters and media partners. Working with Chiliz Labs will allow Blockasset to leverage Chiliz and Socios.com’s network to provide utility and cross activations for Fan Token holders and athlete token holders alike.
Chiliz will continue to onboard more enterprise level projects in the coming months. This will include NFT ticketing pilots and Web3 infrastructure partners building for sports and entertainment.
NFT Legends Collection featured Muhammad Ali, Wayne Rooney and Michael Bisping
Blockasset has five sold-out NFT collections under its belt, including the record-breaking Blockasset Legends collection featuring Muhammad Ali, Wayne Rooney, Michael Bisping, Alexander Ovechkin and Jonah Lomu, which became the highest-grossing verified sports collection in the world.
Fan Token Platform for Athletes
Blockasset is now ready to release a new fan token platform for athletes. Sports fans can look forward to official tokens from Blockasset’s world-class athletes, including UFC superstars Jorge Masvidal, Khamzat Chimaev and Gilbert Burns. The roster also includes Middleweight Champion Alex Pereira and more than 40 other athletes. Fans can already sign up to subscribe to the initial athlete token listings on Blockasset’s platform.
Blockasset CEO Paul Evans said, “We’ve been long-time admirers of what the Socios.com concept and the Chiliz ecosystem has brought to the world of sport. They introduced the innovative Fan Token concept for top teams all around the world and the fans have benefited from this innovation. We are bringing Fan Tokens to athletes, which has different dynamics and benefits from leagues and teams.”
Evans continued, “Our mission is to use Web3 technology to connect sports fans and brands with athletes, providing fans with an elevated experience of engagement and access never possible before, whilst offering athletes an additional revenue stream and full control over their IP. It’s a win-win ecosystem where the fan and athlete have a mutually beneficial relationship, a huge leap from the distant relationship fans and athletes currently have on social media. We are excited to join forces with Chiliz to leverage their sports industry relationships and technical expertise to help accelerate our mission.”
Alexandre Dreyfus, founder and CEO of Chiliz, said: “We are very happy to welcome Blockasset, an innovative project that shares our vision to reshape fan experience in sports by using Web3 technology to bring the fans closer to their heroes.
“Blockasset’s athlete-verified token approach is different yet completely complementary to our Socios.com team Fan Token model, allowing us to strengthen the utility of our Fan Tokens and increase our catalogue of rewards through cross activations.
“Furthermore, this alliance means a new step forward towards consolidating Chiliz as the leading Web3 infrastructure for sports and the go-to platform for brands looking to build the future of fan engagement.”
