An officially licensed play-to-earn party game has been announced by the Beijing Winter Olympic Games. The game was launched the day before the Opening Ceremony for the games. The title of the game is ‘Olympic Games Jam: Beijing 2022’.
The P2E Game is Built by nWay
Olympic Games Jam: Beijing 2022 was unveiled by the Olympic Games committee and is the first officially licensed play-to-earn game. It’s a multiplayer party game where players compete in various winter sports to earn Olympic digital NFT pins.
The game is being built by nWay, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee. It will feature many arcade-style winter sports where players can specifically show off their skills in different winter events.
Players are able to fully customize their avatar to bring uniqueness to the Winter Olympics Game. Currently, the game is available on Android, and is set to launch on iOS soon. Collectors can receive the NFT pins in three different ways:
1. Earning them by playing Olympic Games Jam: Beijing 2022
2. Buying boxes on nWayPlay.com
3. Purchasing specific pins from other users on the nWayPlay marketplace.
Owners of the NFTs will gain access to higher tiers of play within the game.
Regarding the Winter Olympic Games
The Winter Olympic Games, are being held this year in Beijing and they started yesterday, February 4th and will end on February 20th. During this year’s games, 109 events are being held in 7 sports. The city was picked as the host city in July of 2015 and it is the first Winter Olympic Games in China. Beijing also hosted the Summer games in 2008. Altogether, in these games, there are 2,871 athletes representing 91 nations.

The game developer, nWay is a games company and its’ parent company is Animoca Brands. nWay is the company behind many games in the traditional gaming space and is now stepping into the crypto NFT and play-to-earn space.
