NFTs Celebrate The Launch Of 2022 Grand Prix™ Car, AMR22

Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One™ Team (AMF1) and cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com are bringing race fans closer to the glamorous world of international motorsport with an NFT drop that celebrates the launch of the team’s 2022 Grand Prix™ race car, the AMR22.

Utilizing Crypto.com, the team’s fans will have the opportunity to purchase digital renderings of individual components from the recently unveiled race car, which will be driven again this year by Lance Stroll and four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel in this year’s FIA Formula One World Championship™.

Rule Change Showcase AMF1’s Engineering Intensity

Following a massive redrafting of the regulations ahead of the 2022 season, a huge emphasis has been placed on new technical solutions for this years car.

Cited as ‘the biggest-ever rule-change in F1™ history’, it has challenged and inspired engineers and aerodynamicists from all F1™ teams to optimize their cars for this year’s race schedule, which kicks off at the Bahrain Grand Prix™ on March 20th.

The increased focus on engineering has been the inspiration for AMF1’s set of four new NFTs. The NFTs focus on separate critical components on the AMR22 – the front wing, the rear wing, the steering wheel and the halo. Each digital asset was meticulously crafted from original data that came directly from the team’s design office.

Three NFT Tiers

The 2022 NFT drop is scaled across three distinct tiers – Accelerate, Slipstream and Velocity  – which escalate in exclusivity and will unlock different rewards at various price-points.

For those fans who collect all four of the component NFTs, they will also have the opportunity to unlock and purchase a special-edition asset, the full AMR22 model.

This year’s expanded collection follows the success of the debut NFT drop in 2021, which made the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One™ Team one of Crypto.com’s top NFT creators for the year with over $2,000,000 in sales.

As an additional benefit, all Crypto.com NFT collectors who hold one of those 2021 NFT assets at the snapshot date will be offered a complimentary NFT to reward them for their support of the original collection.

In addition to NFTs, the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One™ Team also released other digital assets in 2021. In May, they partnered with Socios.com to launch the $AM Fan Token.

Sustainable Partnership And Solutions

This latest NFT collection is the result of a partnership which is committed to sustainability. In developing technology and innovation that drive progress on track, the team can also use those same resources to deliver more efficient and sustainable solutions – for its own business, and in conjunction with their global partners and suppliers.

The team is proud to partner with Crypto.com, which has announced plans to become carbon-negative across its entire organization in a multi-phased approach.

Rob Bloom, Chief Marketing Officer Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One™ Team, said: “Our first NFT drop of the 2022 season builds on the foundations we established with Crypto.com NFT at the beginning of last year, when we gave fans the chance to own the first new footage of an Aston Martin Grand Prix™ car on-track for more than six decades.

“This year, we further embraced the concept, conceiving and building four unique and collectible assets that showcase the incredible design and engineering of the AMR22 car and its components, as well as an additional unlockable only available to fans who have purchased all four original pieces.

“Last year’s release remains one of Crypto.com NFT’s most successful NFT drops – and original owners of those NFTs will be gifted one of this year’s pieces as a special thank-you for their original support.

“We are really looking forward to the reception of this all-new collection.”

Joe Conyers III, Executive Vice President and Global Head of NFT Crypto.com, said: “The growth of the digital collectible market has grown considerably over the past year, and we’re delighted to be collaborating with the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One™ Team on an even more ambitious set of NFTs ahead of the start of the 2022 Formula One season.

“With technology and engineering under the spotlight following the introduction of this year’s sweeping rule changes, we wanted to focus on the aerodynamic and engineering solutions that underpin this fascinating sport.

“The result is a series of impeccably rendered NFT assets that really bring to life the breadth and depth of the engineering know-how that has created the AMR22.

“After last year’s incredible chapter in the sport’s history, this NFT drop is a fantastic way to build hype and anticipation for another thrilling season.”

Other Crypto Exchanges Partner With F1™ Teams

Several other F1™ teams have recently made their NFT plans known. Last week, BWT Alpine announced that they had partnered with Binance to release fan tokens and a special collection of NFTs.  Also last week, Oracle Red Bull Racing announced a sponsorship agreement with Bybit to promote NFTs and fan tokens as well.
