BUENOS AIRES, FEBRUARY 1ST: Club Atlético River Plate, in partnership with the leading sports blockchain provider Chiliz, have announced that they will launch their official Fan Token $RIVER on the Socios.com all-in-one fan engagement and rewards platform.
River Plate are the reigning Argentinian champions and a true giant of Latin American football. The club has 36 league titles and has won over 10 international trophies, including four CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores and a FIFA Intercontinental Cup. They are the second Latin American football club to announce their Fan Token launch on Socios.com this year. Brazilian club Vasco da Gama partnered with Socios.com in January.
The $RIVER Fan Token will give the club’s estimated 20 million fans across the globe the opportunity to engage with and influence the club in a ways that were not possible before. For the first time ever, River Plate fans will be able to take part in their favorite club’s decision-making processes by voting in polls to choose kit designs, squad numbers for new player signings, celebration songs, inspirational messages and other fan-related topics.

River Plate Fan Token owners will also enjoy exclusive discounts and promotions, as well as the chance to earn unique rewards such as signed merchandise, VIP tickets and club-related non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
By using the Socios.com app, fans will also be able to connect with other fans around the world, putting their skills and knowledge to the test in games and quizzes along with ranking in global leader boards. In 2021, Socios.com Fan Token partners launched over 300 Fan Polls on the app and rewarded 5,000 Fan Token holders with their club’s merchandise, tickets, VIP experiences and other prizes.
The launch date for the $RIVER Fan Token will be announced soon as will the subject of the first Fan Poll. The Fan Poll will be available on the Socios.com app as soon as the Token is released.
