Chiliz Announces First Football Fan Token Offering (FTO®) Launch Date For 2022, New Staged Release Format

MONTE CARLO, JANUARY 17TH: AS Monaco FC, an eight time Ligue 1 champion, in a partnership agreement with Chiliz, the leading global blockchain provider for the sports and entertainment industries, have announced that the $ASM Fan Token will be released on Tuesday January 18th at 13.00 CET on the fan rewards app. The Fan Token launch was announced in November.

Fan Tokens are collectible digital assets that provide sports fans worldwide access to a digital service offered by their favorite clubs through the fan engagement platform. Among the benefits are the right to take part in the club decision-making processes by voting in polls, access to exclusive discounts and rewards and the opportunity to earn prizes and rewards through games and competitions.

Over 300 Fan Polls were conducted during 2021 by’s Fan Token partners. Fans voted on kit designs, squad numbers, inspirational messages and other fan-related decisions. In addition, up to 5,000 Fan Token holders were rewarded with signed jerseys, match tickets and VIP experiences utilizing the app.

In what will be the first Fan Token Offering (FTO®) for 2022, 300,000 $ASM Fan Tokens will be released. In an effort to increase opportunities for fans to benefit from this new release, is introducing a new format which will span over four days and across three stages:

  • Wave 1 — Will start Tuesday January 18th at 13.00 CET and will go on for 72 hours (or until end of stock) with Fan Tokens purchases capped at 5 $ASM per user.
  • Wave 2 — Will start on Friday at 13:00 CET and will go on for two hours (or until end of stock) with Fan Token purchases capped at 15 $ASM per user.
  • Wave 3 — Will start on Friday at 15:00 CET and will go on for 24 hours (or until end of stock) with Fan Token purchases capped at 30 $ASM per user.

The first Fan Poll will be available for voting as soon as the FTO® finishes. It will give $ASM owners the chance to choose the design of the sleeve patch that the team will wear during their Ligue 1 game against Paris Saint-Germain, one of the biggest fixtures in French football. $ASM holders will be asked to vote on three different patch designs that were created by artist and designer Nairone Defives.

A second Fan Poll will be launched by AS Monaco before the end of the month. This poll will give fans an unprecedented opportunity to decide which historic AS Monaco jersey will be re-issued for a limited edition collection which will be sold on the club’s shop. Options will include home and away jerseys worn by the club in 1999/2000, when football legends Barthez, Márquez, Trezeguet and Gallardo led the team to the Ligue 1 championship.

Only one $ASM Fan Token is required to vote on all the polls launched by AS Monaco and to take part in all the club-related features. However, the more tokens that are owned, the higher the influence (vote is multiplied by the number of tokens owned) and the more chances to earn rewards.
